Emotions

I'm sure I'll have no clue what goes on in here, but really, it's so the guys don't bitch, and hey, we have to support the men who wanna be creative and crafty now, don't we?

^That's definitely how my boyfriend deals with things. He will whine occasionally, but he usually apologizes for it immediately and at least outwardly moves on quickly. He has told me that he is only capable of crying for a few seconds, and it rarely happens, and doesn't make him feel better. There are certain topics that we don't discuss (largely in his past, I have a sense and basic knowledge of what these things are) and while my inclination is to discuss those issues with him, he has no desire to, and I do realize that it's not necessary. It's just a matter of convincing my overly-empathetic self to let go of the matter and worry infinitely less about his mental well-being.
Introduce a little anarchy, you upset the established order, and everything becomes chaos.

Acceptable times for a male to cry

death of mom or grandma
birth of their child (but only a tear)
When yer team wins the championship or the begining of the season. When they announce "AND NOW PLEASE WELCOME YOUR......... !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" but this is only a little welling up of the eyes.

Even when I do feel physically/mentally crap my default answer to the question "how are you?" is always to say I'm ok. I just can't wear my heart on my sleeve.

I get that. I'm the same way. The thing I've come to realize is that humans are social creatures. Isn't a social outlet at least part of the reason you're on this board in the first place? When most people ask how I'm doing they're only making small talk and they really don't want to know how I really am. However, I've found it beneficial to have someone in my life that I can discuss all the personal shit with that most people don't want to hear.

It helps. At least it's helped me.

^ I agree but I just don't have that person or people irl at the moment that I am confident to be wholly honest with

^ No worries Delma. I'm a private person and as mentioned earlier I find it hard to trust people. My bad as much as anyone elses.
