DIY picnic table

Postby dirtyrottenlove on Sun Jun 05, 2011 1:35 pm

Me and Brian built our own picnic table. I wanted more seating for guests in my yard, and didnt want to pay out of the ass for another patio set, so I figured a picnic table would work. After searching for pre-fab ones, I got fed up with the prices. Since my boyfriend is a carpenter, and I am handy myself.. I figured we could just build one ourselves.. and we did!

We had all the tools and stuff needed so all we had to do is pickup some 2x6's and the hardware. It cost us $75 bucks and 3 hours to build... and it was fun to do a project like this together! I didnt want to post it until we finished painting it, but I havent gotten around to it yet, so keep posted for updates.

After we bought all our supplies

Brian thought it was funny to take a picture of me being miserable

And.. the finished product!

I bought red ("american red", to be exact) exterior spray paint for it. I wanted to pick up some acrylic paints to paint some cool shit on it, too. It's gonna be really badass!!

You can also see my little veggie garden in the background. I planted 4 types of tomatoes, zucchini, eggplant, green peppers, yellow peppers, strawberries, jalepeno peppers, and sweet banana peppers :)

Not too punkrock - but very DIY and very domestic :)

That looks SO GOOD!!! If I ever have a yard, I want to make one of those for it.

Also, definitely post pictures once you've painted it!
