Most useful: Moby Wrap. I also got some milk storage bags and breast pads...totally used them.

Pointless: new clothes. I returned nearly everything and used freecycle and craigslist for baby clothes.

Nobody I know was dumb enough to think I'd use formula, lol.

when my friends have babies i always get a variety of clothing sizes for them. i try to get at least one 0-3, but since most people at the shower get small baby stuff, i try to get six or seven outfits that range from six months to a year. that way the kid has stuff to grow into, you know? and if i don't know the parents' clothing taste very well i opt for solid colors, or stuff that's just stripped or whatnot. i'm pretty damn poor, so i buy most of the stuff at resale shops, so there's really no returning it. apparently i offended one of my [former] friends by doing this- i had bought her son a shit ton of clothing as the baby's father had out and out told her that he really didn't want to spend money on the kid. she didn't use one damn thing i bought for him. she told a mutual friend "i'm not putting Ethan in anything used."
well, sorry i spent $30 getting your kid an entire closet worth of clothing when your creepy baby daddy won't even help pay for diapers, bitch.
... this has turned into a rant. sorry.

I bought nearly everything used and when I did buy new I got clearance stuff.

Another mini rant: I got another package from my hubby's aunt on Friday. It contained 2 more pacifiers(she gave them up months ago), some bottles(she's breastfed and is using a sippy cup for a bit of water or boob milk when it's hot out), a pair of brown newborn moccasins and a size 12 month snowsuit "for next year". It's pale pink and says Baby Kitty Is Adorable across the front in giant type.

Uh, okay.

The snowsuit IS awful and it DOES look like it's from Japan. It's also too small already.

^^ Hahaha!! Sounds like she was all over the place with her gifts. The Japanese inspired snowsuit does sound super funny though!

Hmmm, I think the worst gifts I got were newborn winter clothes when my baby was gonna be born IN THE SUMMER!! Like wtf, it's hot as hell outside and it's barely April, what makes you think i'm gonna put this on my kid when in a month or 2 it's gonna be 10x's hotter?? It was all thank you's of course but when I got home and actually looked at all the stuff I was like WOW, this makes sense :/ I just turned the A/C on full blast and put my fav warm outfit on her like once or twice for a couple hours and then just passed the stuff on to family members and friends.
Oh and another sucky gift was this big giant budget diaper bag filled with the cheapest shit you could possibly find..and I don't mean cheap in price. The quality was ass!! The little wipe carrier thingy didn't even snap shut and the diaper bag itself smelled like weird chemical..lol! To the trash it went!! (from a lady I didn't even know, my mom invited her!)
I think the best stuff I got was all the little memory books and photo albums..nic-nak memorabilia stuff! I LOVE saving everything and putting stuff together for my babes to have and for us to look back on!! Those things to me are priceless ^_^
If you don't have anything nice to say, Say it anyways!
