I have heard it's harder to get immersed in a language if you learn to think through translations and that is probably the reasoning behind them not putting english into the videos.

also it sets you up with like.. native speakers of the language so you can have conversations with them and get feedback on your language skills, you write compositions and get feedback from native speakers, etc.
