Lap Band Surgery. Anyone?

Postby Sweettempered on Mon Mar 28, 2011 11:23 pm

So i was searching threw the threads and couldn't find this topic on here. so i apologize if im posting in the wrong area. or double posting.

June 2010 I had the Lap Band surgery, I will say it was the best decision of my life! I feel better about myself and can def. move better. I have always been a bigger lady and trust me I love myself. but made the decision after tons of yo yo diets and not being able to keep the weight off I went for help.

Whoever says its the easy way out, is a liar! If i wanted to i could still eat cake and fast food all day long. But i choose to get the surgery so i choose to stick to the diet and excerise plan. trust me its not easy all the time. i really do miss beer and soda!! and i do not deprive myself of the finer things in life. i just have a few bites, sounds easy enough but its not,its real easy to not listen to your body and overeat, which results in getting painfully sick!!

I had my surgery in june 2010. I Started off 233 pounds a size 20-22 I am now 180 pounds size 14. my goal is 140. I see a trainer 2times a week and in the gym on my own 3 days a week. Over the last 3 months i haven't lost a god damn pound!! Normally I would have given up. but here i am still working out 5 days a week. Im losing motivation and steam, I always felt like it was the fat kid cop out that muscle weights more the fat. however the proof is in the pudding.

So i guess im asking if anyone on here has had any form of weight loss surgery, or anyone on weight loss journeys. When you hit a 3 months of nothing what keeps you motivate? any tips to get over this hump? My trainer says its muscle gain. my doctor says just keep doing what im doing... however i want to scream every week when i do my weight in!!

I don't think anyone there has any experience with weight loss surgery, but there are tons of great tips on eating better, fitness, and getting over a plateau.

i have had plenty of 3 month plateaus maybe you should up your intensity of your cardio, or try eating more protein, idk cause i dont know what you have been doing now to tell you if it enough or not, but stick with it, sometimes the body just gets use to what you are doing and stalls for a while, so far its taken me 3 years to lose 90 lbs. and at first it just came off so when i stalled i got really depressed but i would just add mph to the treadmeal or lift heavier weights and then in a month i would start losing again plus when i cant get the scale to budge i add lots of lean proteins and cut out refined carbs for a while to give me a little boost, it could be muscle but i think if it was just muscle you would still be losing some because the more muscle you have the more calories you burn throughout the day

Congratulations on all the hard work - I can't even imagine. Maybe you could try switching up your routine. Like, if you do a lot biking, back off on that and add some tae bo. I've heard your muscles can get used to the same exercises. I'm not sure how totally true this is, but it won't hurt to give it a shot. It'll even make workouts a little more interesting.
when i got the music, well i gotta place to go
