Just moved to Las Vegas!

Postby TheDame on Wed Aug 11, 2010 12:52 am

So, obviously one could visit the casinos at any time, but I'm looking for things to do in the area that don't involve blowing a lot of cash while staring at a screen, but do involve meeting great people. Does anyone have some suggestions? Crafts, punk and rockabilly are big draws with me, and cheaper is definitely welcome, but I'm open to hearing whatever you can throw at me!

Or if you'd like to message me and chat, that would be welcome as well. Thank you!

Some cool punk bars to check out are The Double Down Saloon, the Juke Joint. The Beauty Bar has good shows sometimes. Cash for Chaos is cool store.

I actually live in So CA, but will be in LV this weekend for the Las Vegas Showdown. It's gonna be a great time. You should check it out http://www.lasvegasshakedown.com

I am excited to see some of the replies too though, because I am wanting to move back to Vegas in about 9 months, when my lease is up. Palm Springs sucks!

I went on a trip to California last weekend, to Santa Monica and Lancaster, with an Ikea stop in Burbank. Burbank is, from my experience, kind of insane. The smoking laws in general are very strange, all over the place.

But the "This hotel contains chemicals known in the State of California to cause cancer" was downright hilarious.

I know Vegas/Henderson has some Stitch n' Bitches, some info on those would be pretty kickass. I was also looking at joining the Roller Derby, feedback on that would be great if anyone has it...

I'm not much help but I LOVE LAS VEGAS!!!
I want to move there.

The hotels are so immense you can spend some days looking around them?
And go onto the strip at night and watch the night attractions outside the hotels?
Some of the cheaper hotels you will be able to use their pool facilities.

Sorry, I'm useless! i hope you find some decent things to do.
Work it hunny, you're a coffin girl now!

If you're into the whole Tiki thing, Frankie's is awesome!

Viva Las Vegas 14 in April! Totally cheap for you 'cause you don't have to worry about airfare + hotel! ;D
