Has anyone been a secret shopper?

Postby MissLondonDisaster on Mon Mar 19, 2012 3:41 pm

My step mom signed up for several secret shopper sites and has recieved two emails back.
One said she would get a check in the mail via UPS, was allowed to take $200 out of it, take $50- go to Walmart, buy $50 in electronics and then take a survey on the service.
With the rest of the money she was supposed to go to Western Union and send it to the Phillippines....
I said it sounded kind of sketchy. And she never got a check from that site.
However-she got another email, the same instructions- only she had to send the money to Chicago.
And she got a check in the mail for $900.
Thoughts?
I always think anything that has to do with Western Union is a scam.

that sounds like a scam to me. I've done secret shopping for a bath company and I get paid after the shop is done & I've submitted the report.
