this should fuel your hate some more. Personally, I like the store, not the people that own/run it, but this is just screwed up.

Oh my god. That's story is heartbreaking. They had already been through so much with his cancer, then add his wife's accident on top of that, then their son, now walmart is taking away their money. Their situation is so bad that they're actually thankful that she's out of it & doesn't know what's going on. I'm so sad right now. Walmart is evil. Maybe this story will actually make me stop shopping there just because its affordable and convenient.

Well thats fucked up. I think they should just take away any benefits to begin with instead of gettin every employees hopes up and when they need it take it away. What jackasses.

Mm. Apparently, the top 1% still believes in social darwinism. Glad I haven't gone there in years.

i HATE Wal-mart. I never step foot in there. Im not going to support (buy things) a company that's always treating people unfairly.

I'd rather pay an extra buck or two and go to Target, besides Target has cuter stuff.

That's a really sad story though.

It is indeed heart breaking, and disgusting that wal-mart would try to do that...but having said that, they were perfectly with in there rights to do it.

We live in a capalist society, and you have to expect it....big corporations are big because they do stuff like that, and as unpopular as this opionion might make me, I would much rather live in a capatalist society where people are free to try and get as much as they can for themselves rather than a communist nation.

Wal-mart does alot of asshole things....but they also provide cheap essential items for low-income families, create a ton of jobs for people in the community and are one of the few stores that don't start there employees off on minimum wage and give them benefits (in that womans case, her's were re-cooped as she did sign an agreement agreeing to that.)

i guess you gotta take the good with the bad.

Just goes to show...READ the fine fine print before you sign up for something. Of course, no one can anticipate awful things happening to anyone, it's a tragedy.

I like Walmart because I am cheap. Hands down. I wish we could get cheap stuff from a wonderful, loving, equality-oriented store..but that's not the way American supercorporations work..money is what makes the world go round to them.

Is it perfect? Nope. But I wouldn't want any alternative...

And alice84 is right..it's created jobs around here for a lot of people who wouldn't be able to work elsewhere for what they pay.

Still a really sad story.
