I've hated Peta for a long while, many of the reasons have already been listed here, so I'm just going to toss in one more reason why I will NEVER support PETA.
They manipulate children.

Don't believe me?
Check out these "Comics" they gave to kids...

And they aim for the small kids... what bastards!
I'm against wearing fur (Unless it's for survival) but this is just ridiculious.

A list of other crap they've done...

That was disgusting, if i had a child and it was handed to them that person would get a swift kick in the butt!!!

How would they feel if their children were fed "comics" that read Your mommys a narrowminded big fat liar, mommy will say or do anything to get what she wants.

i challenge anyone who meets my Baby dog to say that she's bred to be a killer.
sweetest animal on the face of the planet.

I loved my pit, Elvis. He was the best dog I ever had and never harmed a soul...or other animal. And all the pits I have come across have been real sweet hearts. I blame the owner in the way they have raised their pit, or any other dog for that matter. And I hate how they get a bad name when someone (Vick) uses them for fighting. It's not the dogs fault, they were trained to be that way. This is only my opinion.

The idea of the entire movement was to scare the children so badly that they throw fits demanding to know why mommy killed animals. They WANTED the kids to be traumatised.

PETA is the result of a corporation trying to promote an ideal or lifestyle through making money rather than actually being interested in furthering the cause. The statistics regarding their killing of animals are factual and have been examined and reported by multiple sources. Additionally there's video of the PETA president claiming that she isn't a full vegetarian, that she's "working on it" (ill track that video down for you all). Instead of supporting a bogus organization you can do more by fostering animals from kill shelters, practiciang a healthy vegeterian/vegan lifestyle (if thats what you choose to do), supporting products that do no animal testing, volunteering at animal rescues, and so much more. Screw PETA and take it into your own hands!

PETA is for animal rights, and that alone has always placed their credibility into question as far as I'm concerned. People who are thinking logically and critically do not think chickens and children are the same thing.

I support animal welfare, and believe their suffering should be avoided, but I don't think they are better than or equal to me or any human.

I do however support the great ape project which holds these three simple principles for great apes. The right to life, The protection of individual liberty, and The prohibition of torture. It's pretty reasonable, since humans are included in the great ape family.

I feel that domesticated animals like chickens, cows, and goats have no natural place in the world. They are the direct product of generations of human intervention and selective breeding. Setting them free would be a fools errand, the only humane thing for them would be to kill them all and stop breeding them.

PETA would probably sign off on that too.

my view on the meat industry is that people need to reduce the amount of meat and dairy they are consuming, not nescessarily stop. not even from an ethical standpoint, but from a conservational point of view. meat is very expensive to produce. eating vegetables puts you as a first level consumer while eating meat puts you as a third level consumer, meaning so many more resources are being used to transport the original vegetable to the cow, whereas if we just ate the vegetable or grain in the first place it would feed a lot more people. i also feel very strongly about supporting your local economy, so trying to buy local animal products as much as possible so your money is helping a family and not a corperation, and you're eating an animal that had more respect than an animal soley treated as a product.

exactly how i feel

Amen to that!

As far as I see it:
It's Animal McCarthyism Red Scare Bullshit Propaganda their passing out to kids, hoping to coerce them, by terrifying them into the great Dairy and Meat Eater Witch Hunt they have going on.

**Slightly Off-Topic**

I knew a girl who was in my 1st period science class in freshman class, who a vegitarian (or vegan, I'm not sure. It's been a while.) And she always drank Silk and was a millitantly ignorant bitch to you if you questioned PETA or its practices. Even if you were just curious, & wanted to find out more. (I found that out the hard way.)

We argued a bit, but by classes end I was on ok terms with her and her "crew".

Just the sight of her gave me the willies though. I always hoped she wouldn't start anything with me. Since I often questioned PETA to her friends in her presence... Not the smartest thing... (But that's not why i dislike PETA.

I'd recommend watching a show that Penn & Teller do called "Bullshit". They did a segment on PETA.

I used to be a PETA member when I was first starting out as a vegetarian and really getting into animals' rights. But I don't agree with a lot of their practices. I still subscribe to their newsletter but don't send them money or anything. Sometimes they have some useful information. I didn't know about that kid thing though. That's just wrong. If somebody ever handed something like that to my kid, I'd probably lose it right then and there.

This website is full of bullshit,I'm sorry but if even the slightest bit of info off the website is actually true, then these people must be bored as hell. Because if you're going to spend that amount of time just to find a little dirt on PETA then their wasting their time. They have like a total of 17 articles on that website and 14 are from 05'.Then they kept going on and on about how PETA's been doing this dog abuse thing since 90 something.
