Honeymoon trip ideas?

Hey y'all!! I am getting married in July of next year, and am looking for inexpensive (I want to spend less than $1000 total for travel and lodging for my future husband(Matt) and me) honeymoon ideas. I live in Wisconsin...I'm assuming I'll have to stay within the U.S., since Mexico is out of the question and everything else seems really pricey. We've already nixed Chicago and Wisconsin Dells. I want something romantic, maybe beachy, but nothing that revolves around water activities, as Matt cannot be submerged in water (medical issues)....We like to hike, we like to try new, fun things. We love carnivals and festivals and street fairs and the like. And we don't drink, so no bar-centric trips. Any ideas?

Beachy, no getting in water, and hiking--I'd say Alaska. Or coastal Canada. Although I don't know how much it would cost you, to be honest.

Last year I bought a Living Social deal for 4 nights/5days in an AWESOME beachfront resort in Negril, Jamaica for 300 bucks that included airport transportation and other discounts & perks. Thank you both, I've never really traveled anywhere, so I get a little bit stressed out even thinking about it! haha We've been kicking around the idea of Portland, Oregon.
