Removing chewing gum from clothing?

Removing chewing gum from clothing?

Postby voiddj on Tue Jun 22, 2010 6:41 pm

Anyone got any tips for removing chewing gum frm clothing, specifically denim?

I sat down on a park bench recently and got gum all over my jeans. Whilst I've got most of it out I still need something to really attack the particularly sticky bits with.

Peanut butter?
I also remember ice might do the trick. It takes a while though.

I've had luck with ice...when the gum gets cold it gets more brittle and "lets go" of the fabric...then you can sort of scratch it off

PUT THEM IN THE FREEZER.

And no, we don't get goo gone over here. Not easily anyway, it's quite annoying because it sounds like a heavenly substance.

Gin (put gin on, pick gum off)

or Canned Air it works like putting the jeans in the freezer only much faster.

I thought peanut butter was more so if you got it in your hair? *shrug*

I think this might only work for hair...I'm trying to imagine peanut butter on clothes and I keep thinking that it might make an oily stain on your clothing...I could be wrong though.

I was thinking the same thing about the peanut butter leaving an oily stain on clothing. Works great on hair. Got a huge chunk of bubble gum out my daughter's hair when she was little.
